Keep Sidney Beautiful (KSB) has proudly served our community by providing free and accessible programs that improve the cleanliness, sustainability, and pride of Sidney. Unfortunately, we did not receive our operating grant this year, which puts the continuation of these programs at risk. We are reaching out to our community for support to help keep these important services available.
In 2025 alone, KSB made a measurable impact:
- E-waste, batteries, and glass recycled: 13,774 pounds
- Paper shredding events: 1,536 gallons of paper shredded
- Great Trash Race: 2,020 pounds of litter collected
- KSB community clean-ups: 792 gallons of litter collected
- Kids Clean Up Program: 65 gallons of litter collected
- Elementary paper recycling: 608 gallons of paper recycled
- Gold Rush Days recycling: 256 gallons of plastic bottles and cans recycled
These efforts were powered not only by funding, but by an incredible commitment of volunteer time:
- Adult volunteer hours: 387.5 hours
- Board volunteer hours: 347 hours
- Youth volunteer hours: 111 hours
These volunteer hours came from community events, board meetings, Open Mic Night, clean-ups, educational programs, and outreach efforts throughout the year.
With the exception of minimal fees for e-waste and batteries, all of these programs and services were provided free to the public. They are made possible through grants, donations, volunteers, and community partnerships.
Without additional funding, KSB may be forced to scale back or discontinue programs that directly benefit Sidney’s residents, schools, and environment. We are asking for the community’s help—through donations, sponsorships, or partnerships—to ensure we can continue keeping Sidney clean, beautiful, and sustainable.
Every contribution makes a difference, and together we can ensure Keep Sidney Beautiful continues its mission for years to come. If you are interested in donating, we can provide a link to our PayPal. Since KSB is a 501(c)(3), donations can be used as a tax deduction.
