Open Mic Night: July 25th at 5:30 pm @ Cheyenne County Fairgrounds in Sidney, NE 69162

Grab some cotton candy and head to Open Mic Night during Cheyenne County Fair and Rodeo, Sidney Nebraska Come share your talent and cheer and enjoy a night full of music, laughs, and good times!

Electronic Recycling– July 24th & July 25th @ 937 8th Ave in Sidney, NE

If you missed the last electronic recycling, don’t worry because you’ll have another opportunity this month! Time to get rid of all those old vacuums, printers, and TV’s that no longer work.

APPLIANCES: You must call first to confirm acceptance. We do not accept appliance drop-offs without prior approval. Appliances are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis with limited space.

Please call to inquire about appliance disposal fees.

Batteries and glass will also be accepted. There is no fee for glass drop off!

Batteries are not included in the 5 items. There is a separate charge for batteries.

Any tech that you bring inside a box will need to be taken out of the box. This is not our responsibility to take it out for you.

ALL DROP OFFS ARE DURING THE DESIGNATED TIMES ONLY.

Paper Shred Day– June 27th 9 am – 11 am @ 937 8th Ave in Sidney NE

Time to get rid of those stacks of paper lying around!

This is a paper drop off. Docu-Shred comes the same day at the end of their route and will shred everything on site after the drop off time ends.

Paper clips and all metal spines from notebooks need to be removed prior to drop off.

Great Trash Race– August 1st at 9:30 am @ Sidney/Cheyenne County Visitors Center

Last year, we managed to pick up over 2000 pounds of trash! This year, let’s DOUBLE IT! Feel free to team up with your friends or family to win our “trashy trophies” There will be free food, a raffle, and good times!

If you are unable to pick up trash, we still have volunteer opportunities for you!

The focus of trash pick up will be along Glover Rd, Silverberg Dr, Upland Pkwy, Cabela Dr, Old Post Rd, Jennifer Ln, and around the Walmart area.

Participation is required to receive t-shirt

Check in is at 8:30 am.

Yard of the Month

Celebrate Cheyenne County’s towns and villages with our longest running program, Yard of the Month! Throughout the year homeowners around the county battle it out in the ultimate bragging rights competition. Yards are submitted each month, and voted on by the community. We need at least 3 nominations for there to be a vote!

In October we feel the spirit and crown the Spookiest Yard of the Month. This county-wide contest celebrates the most haunted yards Cheyenne County has to offer!
Then in December, we get festive! If you go wild with lights, you’ll want to get in on our Holiday Yard of the Month. From Lodgepole to Potter, Sidney to Dalton, our board scopes the county for the best display of the year!

Adopt-A-Block

The Adopt-A-Block program empowers neighbors to help beautify their community starting with the city’s smallest unit–the block. We provide free tools and resources and you commit to keeping your block free of litter. If everyone does a little bit, it makes a huge difference!
